Babies Who Volunteer
Babies Who Volunteer has created a network of babies and their caregivers, enriching the lives of seniors one baby at a time |
South Carleton High School
They partner with the Rural Ottawa South Support Services (ROSSS) which delivers rural community support services to seniors and people with disabilities. The school hosts a group of ROSSS clientele and volunteers twice a month (on average) for coffee and snacks. Visits to the playgroup run by its parenting classes are a regular highlight, along with participating in various activities with South Carleton students. https://southcarletonhs.ocdsb.ca/our_school/community_partners

Bench Program
As part of the Older Adult Plan, the City of Ottawa installs additional benches on sidewalks in areas of the city with the high concentrations of seniors. On June 1st, 2019, Senior Watch Old Ottawa South invited people young and old to vote for the best location for a bench to rest and chat. The bench, in recognition of Ottawa’s inaugural Intergenerational Day, was installed later that year. |
